Static Apnea

In the discipline of static apnea, you hold your breath while underwater for as long as possible.
The key is relaxation and to waste no effort in moving. The safety person checks on the diver on regular periods and the diver must signal when prompted.

At present the NZ record is held by club member Guy Brew at 8 minutes and 31 seconds.

Note:

Static apnea must never be practiced alone. Always dive with a buddy!
