Sunday Results

Another big day in competition for the athletes, with more top performances. Michael Cheeseman from Australia opened proceedings with a 6:00 static in his first ever competition, followed by Alisdair Eddie setting a new South African record in dynamic with no fins. Guy Brew increased his dynamic personal best to 226m, while four other competitors did dynamics over 150m.

Saturday Results

An astonishing day first up, with five national records and some huge dives. Guy Brew kicked things off with a massive 9:03 static, with Dave Mullins doing a 232m no fins dynamic; 18m more than his current world record!

Sunday Draw

Once again we have good numbers for Sunday, with most divers opting for dynamics with fins. Michael Cheeseman kicks things off with another static at 10:45am, with the last dive at 1:16pm.

Saturday Draw

The draw for the first day is up, with Guy leading off at 10:45 with a static. We have eight male competitors and three females in the performance grade, with four recreational grade divers and three juniors. Final top time is 1:30pm.

Wellington Winter Champs 2009

The second competition of the New Zealand freediving calendar has now been announced by the Lazy Seals. The 2009 Wellington Winter Champs will take place at the Trust Porirua Aquatic Centre on the 11th & 12th of July. The pool competition will be contested in static breath-hold, dynamic with fins and dynamic without fins. All divers completing dives will recieve a world ranking.
